I keep leaning towards William because of a lot of reasons:
the obvious Shakespeare joke the fact that the Murderous Boyfriend character in a lot of folk songs (“Pretty Polly”, “Knoxville Girl”) is quite often called “Willie”
it’s a suitably generic name for a really generic dude
it would make him and his buddy Bill and Ted, and that’s hilarious
